who pays better grubhub or doordashwho pays better grubhub or doordash
What is the better after drive for this year is it door - or is it surprisingly grub hub now if that seems like an easy answer
we're going to be putting some actual numbers head to head looking at the actual policies between a wide range of different policies between these 2 companies going over my experience personally with both and ultimately giving you an overall verdict 1 of the channel my name is Mike on this channel I hope you with B. gig economy your side hustle your full time hustle making money in trading the multiple revenue streams so if you are new here consider subscribing Anna just updated just a couple weeks ago at my Amazon storefront for the very best accessories for anything like a visa food delivery apps creating the YouTube channel and the more that linked down below in the description so number 1 if you're looking at starting your side hustle or even a full time hustle with either a doordash or GrubHub let's put both of these a head to head actually by the numbers so firstly from a research group is second measure this is a fresh data from February of 2021 who is winning the food delivery race well when it comes to actually be share of a sales a door - maybe surprise we maybe not let me know Dublin comments door - has a 55 percent market share and then conversely we can see GrubHub with just a 16 percent market share okay so it turned our attention to each of these respective apps let's at least look at the coverage here across North America so by the numbers door - covers they state 850 cities across North America but it's surprisingly GrubHub stays they cover of 4000 US cities now most likely these are 4000 cities include their entire branding portfolio so it not only
GrubHub but seamless level up all menus and menu pages. Okay but today we're looking at the door - of verses of GrubHub specifically for you as a driver so speaking of let's compare the base pay head to head door - of verses of grub so this is the most updated version of the dasher pay this 4 door - of course so we can see here your denture pay includes base pay which is time distance and a calculations for a - or desirability. That plus any promotions so that is P. pay and or challenges went over that a little bit. Any tips that equals your total earnings now turn their attention as you grow pub again and the most updated version of the very driver pay model so here we see the mileage pay plus time plus tips plus what they call a special offers that includes bonuses that challenges and a sweepstakes and all of that to people's your total earnings okay so that's a general breakdown of just the different respective pay models are for you as a driver but really 1 of the factors that that's going to allow you to make the most money possible on any food delivery apps are bonuses and bonus pay so let's turn our attention to each respective app here when it comes to bonus pay so with the door - as mentioned that there's
2 different types of a promotional pay their speak pay and there are challenges so if you don't know on a door - whenever you schedule shift or what have you just go online immediately given it's busy enough using the - now feature there's different quadrants of your market place generally unless you're in a very small overall market place your entire market place will be again broken down into different segments so when it relates to this bonus pay the peak pay well peak pay is given during the busiest times in those the busiest segments of your market place now P. pay is it going to very based on the market place based on the time of day the time of week cetera bata generally from what I've seen you can see peak pay anywhere from $1 extra per delivery upwards to $7 extra on every single delivery now the higher does yes the more rare that they would be generally I would say you can expect anywhere from $1 to $3 back and again this really is a part of every bonuses so whatever times that door - gives the prepay let's say from 2 to 4 from 2 to 66 cetera vandal offered that at P. pay on every single deliver you complete the next leap challenges that's a bash bonus so doordash is gonna say.
A well you know completed this amount of deliveries and we'll give you an extra whatever it is $10 and $20 after completing it that batch of deliveries now this would be an access of any tips you receive it any P. pay as well so that is one good thing in my opinion with a door - is you could basically double dip on those promos you could get a challenge pay you could get a peek pei and of course you'll get tips as well box is surprisingly for some reason at least from what I've seen challenges on a door - of really been in beta really for about 6 to 8 months now so let me know down below in the comments if your market place has the bash bonuses A. K. A. challenges and then when it comes to proliferate bonuses on grandpa but they do offer per delivery bonuses as well now personally being newer to grub hub here in Pittsburgh I haven't seen that personally so do let me know it dumped on the comments what type of a party everybody says you get a grub hub in your market place now let's take a look at tips and I think this is going to give you some pretty interesting food for thought here so on doordash the way the tips work it typically they're only issued before the deliveries actually been made it's all the actual order screen whatever the customers placing your order no yes the customer can add a tip after the fact on board - but it is really a roundabout method they basically have to contact support directly and requested that that tip mainly be added
understandable but I want to show you this specific website from a door - take a look at this so here is what I could find on the customer and when it comes to payments and tips so we can see here can I adjust the tip that I provide to the doctor and a door - it says yes after the check out page like I mentioned before selecting place order you have the option of selecting a specific amount to tip your dasher so basically yeah a one sentence answer and I showed you this because. I want you to now look at what a grub hub says about customer tips so GrubHub has an entire 2019 a blogpost about best practices to tip your delivery driver so we can see here there is a literally best practices this is customer facing on how much you should tip your delivery driver and a grub hub actually put a number on it they say 20 percent is business as usual and then they also say you should never tip really less than $5 either so continuing here if it's a large order GrubHub says to the customer well tip even more we could see an additional 3 to 5 percent well what if there is a bad weather well GrubHub promotes hate to have even more well what if your driver has to climb those stairs I have been there let me know in the comments if you've been there but climbing up the stairs to find the customer while grandpa says tipped even more and they also go beyond that and this is pretty interesting they say Hey to the customer the delivery fees that we give you on the order those are 2 steps either that is a very very interesting as far as the business practices that GrubHub has an entire blog post on best practices and is very much pro tip for their drivers verses on a door - we see that 1 sentence answer that says yes you can tell it's done when you place the order but I'm gonna go a little bit deeper than that and now talk about my experience with both the apps here and then give you an ultimate verdict so looking at my actual numbers here are driving part time and full time on door - for years in different market places in a San Diego and here in the
Pittsburgh Pennsylvania by my only numbers after a 1600 completed deliveries again into marketplaces I did average $25 per hour in. Gross revenue now that easy during peak times you know it's the dinner rush it's the lunch rush and you really should be doing your research to maximize your income of course as an independent contractor I invite you to join the team here if you haven't joined already and subscribe and also by the numbers I was averaging about a $5 tip on average and really a pretty strong of paper mile on average $2.20 per mile and then turning our attention to grandpa again not having the personal experience that I had on the door - really doing some ride alongs with my twin brother Matthew recently got activated on GrubHub here in Pittsburgh but we both had some very interesting feedback here especially we're trying to compare these 2 apps so we saw less of volume on GrubHub we're getting less orders which kind of makes sense if we go back to a chart that we saw on a market share with a drop of verses door - so we saw less order frequency but the pay was equal to door - if not better so I'm talking about to be paid per mile what we call here the dollar small ratio how much am I getting paid for the miles driven now there is a challenge on a grub hub you don't exactly know that for sure until you complete that delivery. Because on probable given the starting in the Indian destination but we're not giving it the miles or a productive route so you really have to know your market place you have to do some research there on selecting the best orders but after doing those right along so with Matt we saw a much much higher tipper frequency on a grub hub so to put that in perspective whenever I would drive on a doordash I would get about 40 percent to 45 percent 50 percent of my total gross revenue coming in from tips well driving here in Pittsburgh on a grub hub we saw a 60 plus percent of our total earnings coming from tips so remember I mentioned an average tip on door - was $5 we were seen as $7879 tips on GrubHub no that is really interesting especially because remember the pay is pretty similar between both apps here and that is even without any bonus pay a growing pub what's really interesting is yes the pay was pretty comparable rights even though there was less volume on GrubHub but it just a tip amounts getting this so much more revenue from tips on it GrubHub is that really going back to what we saw on that blog post from a 2019 is GrubHub really promoting tips to their drivers so this year what is the better apt to drive for is it doordash or is it GrubHub I would say if you want volume if you want predictability generally from what I've seen in the markets that I've driven in if you want consistent bonus pay if you want pretty good tips as well I would go with a door - is really your number 1 but I would absolutely download of GrubHub as well because yes they have what was it maybe a 16 percent or so market share there is an opportunity there if other drivers or ignoring GrubHub because of that number they assume they're gonna be slower driving on GrubHub. I absolutely see at least on our preliminary shift here I see some great potential on a grandpa to really capture that pay especially when it comes to tips so let me know your experience if we have to put these head to head here do you drive to both to do just start on one end and the other is one exceptionally better in your market place when it comes to pay bonus pay and or tips let us know your experience double do make sure to check out the updated Amazon storefront and if you got value in this video it definitely got me like you can also click or tap the screen here for my newest video as well as a video recommended for you no see that's one.
